Your mothers heart beating in the womb welcomed you here, out to the singing birds and vibrating stars, this life is music, including you! Since the dawn of civilization we have had music, before words or money. It is our nature. Returning us to that is one of the true gifts of music. That is what it gave to Tarek. The mission of West Wind Sound Sessions is paying that forward. Connection to the mysterious force of life
This music is brought to you straight from the silent unknown. Improvised for the present moment, connecting listeners together as community. Offering musically ceremonial experience for over a decade, from drum circles to sound baths to international plant medicine retreats. Music brought him to love. He’s learned to share those good vibes in many ways like the Integration Support Group, inspiring & teaching many to take up the healing art of music for themselves and more
“There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”

I was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin. I began playing music as a very young man, for over twenty years. As I got to a certain age I began to experience a great amount of suffering, anxiety and doubt. After a separation and disillusionment with music I returned to it.. Instead of playing to practice, I now played to play. Instead of playing to achieve an expectation or a school grade, I played for the fulfillment of the moment. I learned every kind of instrument that I could get my hands on. In this childlike state music picked me up and healed me. It reminded me of the very meaning and essence of life.
With music and supports like meditation, Qi Gong/Tai Chi, gardening and nature, plant medicine and spiritual teachers; I found myself. It deepens over the years like the canyon with the coming of the rainy season, but music is always there. It has been an all consuming passion and purpose. My goal, whenever creating music, is to put myself aside, allow the instrument to speak its unique voice and to tune into the universal song through devotion to inner silence. It was not until 8 years ago that I was asked to play by Utah’s first Sound Bath group and discovered something so pivotal to my path. Finally! I had a way to give back and pay it forward with music… the thing that helped me so profoundly!
The years following music and my heart have taken me all over the world. From a simple communal life in Hawaii, to international plant medicine retreats, it has been the deepest honor to be able to help with what helped me. I have seen this is the work this world needs the most to create paradise for as many of us as possible. To clean the river you walk upstream to the source of the pollution. I thank all of the people who received my work since we began this journey in Utah and the growth we have all gone through! I thank music for helping me to cultivate abundance within myself to share with the world and plant those small seeds, those ripples echoing forever into the future.
ALOHA!
