About

T a r e k   W e b e r

Tarek was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He grew up playing music, but did not find real passion in it until taking a break and abandoning traditional methods of studying sound. With a shift in perspective, music became infused with soul instead of routine and fun instead of practice. Listening to inner inspiration became the focus while music became an all consuming passion and purpose.

Music became his first language and as he explored and taught himself, he took up Qi Gong and meditation as a daily ritual. The music and the devotion for inner silence blended into one as a spiritual approach to music became the focus. His goal, whenever creating music, is to put himself aside, allow the instrument to speak its unique voice and to tune into the universal song. Over the years he has picked up a variety of different instruments, with a focus on percussion and rhythm and has performed with a number of different acts. The highlights including: drumming with an African dance ensemble, leading various drum circles and playing with Utah's first sound bath group.

Music has been extremely therapeutic and healing for Tarek. For years trying to figure out how to put his own unique stamp upon the music world and do so productively was the main issue. It seems that these days the one direction music careers can take is aspiring to become a glamorous rock star. This is what has inspired him to take music and use it as a tool to help others heal, reach profound states of meditation/relaxation and eliminate stress.

During the sessions he uses the didgeridoo, hand pan, crystal bowls, rain sticks, shakers, frame drum, tablas, Tibetan bowls, gong and more. The vibration and intention of the sound is absorbed by every cell in the body and this force is concentrated by playing over and on the body. Stress and tension held in the body is dissolved at the cellular level as production of immunoglobulin antibodies increases and the stress hormone; cortisol decreases.  (www.APA.org/monitor/2013/11/music.com)
